This is was a final project for a class I took called "color theory" during my first semester in fall 2016. The class was asked to compose our own version of the four seasons by incorporating the lessons that were drilled in class.
I had made many inspirational boards, thumbnails and rough sketches which led me to choose a geometric, stained glass nature theme. As you can see from the paintings, it shows the transition from spring to winter.
To be honest, I struggled trying to compose winter because I had never experienced it at the time. However, with much determination and dare i say it, tears. I managed to construct an image of winter...and yes, each triangle was painted individually. I don't regret any minute of it.
Please feel free to take a closer look at the paintings.
Media: tempera paint.
